From the words of her foster, Sammy is THE BEST dog ever.
Sammy is a senior girl who will always want to be by your side. She is a local surrender and has lived much of her life in a home with cats and her people. Sammy is potty trained and is an absolute gem on walks. Sammy gets very excited when her harness is brought out and does not pull but sometimes will give a bark in excitement or when wanting to greet people. Sammy LOVES to be bet and when you stop she will encourage you with a little whimper to keep petting her. When picking her up she will let you know with a small growl if she doesn't want to be, it is important for her future adopters to be patient and pay attention to her body language to know when to give her the space she needs.
Long sets of stairs are difficult for Sammy, so she may need assistance going up and down to different levels of a house; she is okay with smaller sets of stairs. It is suggested that her future adopter will be retired or have someone always home as Sammy has separation anxiety. Sammy's current foster takes her out on many outings and most recently went to a garden center craft workshop where she was the most well behaved dog. Everyone at the event was amazed by her demeanor, as she sat on a chair watching the craft happen not making a peep the entire time! Sammy will make the best companion for someone who is looking for a dog that doesn't require much except lots of love!
Sammy is located in Hamilton, ON.
