Hi my name is Bailey!
After being well loved by the staff at my shelter in Texas, I made a big transition. It has been a few weeks now since I made it to my foster home here in Canada, I came all the way from Texas! I am a goofy and playful girl and I am very food and toy motivated. Since this is my first time learning most tricks, I often look at my fosters for guidance but I am an intelligent girl and a quick learner they say. I already know how to sit, come, crate, down and off! You should also see my high jumps.
Just as it sounds, I have quickly mastered the indoor life - I am even crate and house trained. My fosters are now focussed on teaching me not to pull as much on the leash and not to be so distracted by every squirrel or dog that catches my attention. There is so much to see and do outside, sticks, dogs and big cars I may easily become overstimulated but I've been responding very well.
Bailey's ideal home would be one with a fenced yard and an adopter willing to bring her out on adventures as she continues discovering the outside world and is very eager to learn. She would love a handler that brings her out on daily walks and continues working on her leash work. She can easily entertain herself with her own toys and would do well as a solo pup. When it comes to other dogs - Bailey may get nervous with those who get in her face or leash to leash interactions. In this case, If given a dog sibling she would need another submissive and patient dog that understands she is still trying to figure it all out and will allow her to have a slow and proper introduction. She has yet to be introduced to children, but we do believe she would do best with teens as she is excitable. Bailey just wants all the love she can get, would you be the right fit for her?
Medical: Bailey was seen by a vet due to her cleft palate. This has been corrected through being surgically repaired.
