Meet Mae!

Mae is an overly timid, shy girl. When she arrived in Canada and settled into her foster home over a month ago, Mae was quite unsure of how to come out of her shell, finding comfort in her crate as her safe space. Her foster has noticed baby steps with her and she is still being accustomed to her indoor environments. But she is now opening up, seeking affection from her foster, and even occasionally showing her playful side. Mae is originally from Mexico and her ideal adopters would live away from the city, in a quiet home, without lots of commotion. Mae would do best in a single or a couple home without children (as she is afraid of most noises! (Does not currently enjoy being approached). She would benefit from another confident, low energy dog to help teach her how to be a dog and build her confidence in the home. Mae is a shy girl so slow introductions would be very important to make sure she is comfortable with her surroundings in ALL situations.

Mae's ideal home would be with patient adopters until she comes around and will flourish, we are hopeful that the right people will come around and will be willing to show her that this big world isn't so scary! Mae also requires a fenced yard.

Foster Update!
Maeber has come so far since arriving from Mexico in November. Mae came as a scared shut down doggo. She has taken quite sometime to adjust to life in a home. She had only even know shelter life. Maeber is a shy dog, a reserved dog, a sweet dog, a funny dog, a soft dog, a loving dog, a calm dog, a fast dog, and a friendly dog. She has been fostered with us and has had a handful of housemates over the time. She often finds comfort in her crate. She has been actively exploring the house, during the day and evening. She had been venturing into the living room in the evening time to get some love. When we have guests Mae now ventures over for some smells and sometimes chin rubs (those seem to be her favourite).

Mae will do well in a home that has the time to put into building a trusting relationship, has a confident dog to follow, quieter household, and children that understand dog behaviour. Mae has really become part of our family. I love how gently she takes treats, I love her little howl, I love her gentle nature and her love of snow. She is honestly so silly once she comes out of her shell. She is going to make someone so happy.
