Danny came to Full Circle Rescue after his owner unfortunately passed away and his caregiver had to make a difficult decision about his future. His caregiver knew that Full Circle Rescue would ensure that Danny would be taken care of, loved, and supported while with us. Danny was recently adopted out and within a short period of time surrendered back to FCR. FCR believes his previous home was not a right fit or environment for him to grow. Danny is now back with us through no fault of his own, and we’re determined to find him the perfect forever family who understands and appreciates the wonderful quirks of the beagle personality.
This sweet and gentle boy has so much love to give, but like many beagles, he can also be a little stubborn. He gets excited easily, sometimes jumping up on things or playfully mouthing your hand if you rev him up too much. He’s also quite vocal when happy or stimulated, so a family who doesn’t mind a chatty beagle will fall in love with him.
Danny is house-trained, not destructive when left alone, and has done wonderfully in his foster home, even living with a baby whom he lovingly “protects.” He’s a curious boy who also enjoys learning - in fact, he thrives when he’s given direction. Being told what to do gives him purpose and builds his confidence, so a home that can provide patience, structure, rules, and boundaries will set him up for success.
He is dog-friendly (having previously lived with another dog) but is not suited for a home with cats due to his high prey drive. Kids should be dog-savvy, as Danny can get mouthy when overstimulated. He tends to enjoy the presence of men, however he warms up well when met with confidence and calm energy from any human.
Danny is looking for a special home… ideally someone familiar with beagles and their spirited nature. His foster notes that he would thrive with an active adopter who enjoys the outdoors, hiking, or long walks, as Danny has the energy, nose and curiosity to match. At the same time, he also loves to relax and watch the world go by from a cozy bay window.
While Danny may be too headstrong for a quiet, low-activity, unstructured home he will be the perfect shadow and loyal companion for someone who provides exercise, enrichment, and calm, consistent leadership. He bonds deeply and wants nothing more than to be your partner in adventure and your cuddle buddy at home.
