Meet Baloo!
Baloo is the definition of a gentle giant. This handsome Jindo mix is calm, quiet, incredibly well-mannered, and ready to find a family who will appreciate his sweet, sensitive nature.
Around the house, Baloo is the perfect roommate. He's fully house trained and crate trained, happily spending time relaxing or napping in his crate on his own. He can be left home alone for several hours without issue and has never been destructive or had an accident indoors. In fact, he's such a tidy boy that he even enjoys grooming himself! He rarely barks, doesn't beg for food, and is happiest in a calm, predictable home.
Once Baloo knows you, he's incredibly affectionate. He'll greet you at the door, lean against you for pets, nudge your hand for more attention, and happily roll over for belly rubs. He loves being close to his people and forms deep bonds with those he trusts. He may be shy when meeting new people indoors, but with a little patience and a gentle approach, he warms up quickly. Outside, he's much more outgoing and enjoys saying hello with a curious sniff.
Baloo gets along wonderfully with other dogs and especially enjoys playing with dogs his own size. He has shown no signs of aggression and remains calm even when other dogs bark at him. He has never shown any signs of aggression. He's gentle with smaller dogs and has done well with gentle dog savvy children ages 5 and up. (he could be frightened by small toys in the house) - He has not been tested with cats.
Outside is where Baloo's adventurous side shines. He loves exploring, sniffing everything, and spending time in nature. He's an athletic, strong dog who enjoys walks, though busy streets, heavy traffic, construction, and loud noises can make him nervous. When he's frightened, he may freeze or need extra reassurance, so he'd thrive in a quieter neighborhood with plenty of green space where he can build confidence at his own pace.
Baloo is a smart dog who already knows several commands, including sit, stay, crate, come, and more. Like many Jindos, he's intelligent and independent, so he responds best to patient, consistent guidance and a routine he can count on. He isn't very interested in toys, but he loves exploring the world with his people.
Baloo's ideal adopters is one that offers a patient and peaceful environment with regular routines, and a family willing to give him the time he needs to settle in. He can be frightened by unknown noises outdoors and will require the appropriate time to decompress. A tall and secured fenced yard would be ideal for him.
