Meet Niko! This boy is a cuddly and affectionate dog. He has settled into the comfy life quite well and really enjoys just being with you on the couch. While he can be a bit nervous outside, he is gaining confidence every day and it has been a joy to watch him discover new things. If you want a sweet and affectionate dog, then Niko is the guy for you! This boy loves feeding time, walks and cuddle time from humans. He has quickly adjusted to his new life in Canada but does not enjoy being away from his humans. Niko is originally from Mexico he has been well socialized but is still learning how to play with bigger dogs, he often looks at queues from his fur friends. Niko enjoys his walks, but squirrels are enticing, and new human friends are always fun to say hello to!
Niko's ideal home would be one dedicated to continuing leash training and building his tolerance at being home alone as he has shown signs of Separation Anxiety. Niko would benefit from a multi person household where he has less chance of fiercely bonding with one person. His ideal home would have a yard with high fences. His new family will have experience with dogs or is willing to enroll him in obedience training. Niko would also do well with another dog, especially if being left alone for long periods of time.
