Meet Bash, also known as Brisket! This silly, affectionate boy loves people, loves being pet, and is always happy to make a new friend. He’s fantastic with kids and enjoys meeting other dogs, where his friendly and playful nature make him a great companion.
Bash is a low-energy guy with a big heart. He enjoys his walks and likes to run and play, but he is also perfectly happy spending the day napping while his people work. He walks well overall, although he may occasionally pull or bark at squirrels or a particularly startling vehicle. He is great in the car and has been comfortable through storms and fireworks.
At home, Bash is house-trained and crate trained, and he genuinely enjoys his crate - he’ll even wander in voluntarily for a nap. He knows “sit,” “lie down,” and “shake hands,” and his love of food makes him very motivated to learn. He is also an exceptionally cooperative boy for vet visits, nail trims, and general handling.
Bash does have an important health need that his future family will need to stay on top of. He takes medication for hypothyroidism twice a day and takes his pills very easily. He is also working toward a healthy weight and will need to remain on his vet-approved diet. Fair warning: Bash is an enthusiastic foodie who will happily eat just about anything he can reach, so his people will need to be strong enough to resist begging eyes and keep tempting snacks out of reach!
Bash would love a home with people who will appreciate his silly personality while staying committed to his health. He may not be your marathon buddy, but he’d be very happy to take a couple of walks, spend the day by your side, and then settle in for some well-earned cuddles.
