Say hello to Bula, also known as Little Miss! This beautiful tripod is a sweet, affectionate girl who is eager to please and ready to find her forever home. Bula absolutely loves belly rubs and cuddles. She is calm, easy to handle, and incredibly motivated to be called a “good girl”!
Bula is remarkably mobile on three legs. She loves a good game of tug-of-war and is always ready to have some fun! She enjoys exploring and investigating her surroundings, although she may bark at people and dogs and has a strong interest in things that run away. She is nervous around cars, particularly larger vehicles, but travels well once she is inside. She has no issues with other things that make loud noises.
Bula is comfortable with dogs once she has had time to warm up and decompress, but she needs a bit of patience and supervision. Her first introduction to the resident dog in her foster home took about two weeks before they were able to play well together. She is not food or toy possessive and patiently waits for her meals, although she is a very enthusiastic eater!
At home, Bula is crate trained and puts herself in her crate at night. She can be left alone for several hours and generally settles down to sleep, although she has some separation anxiety and may cry or bark initially. She is showing improvement with this, and a Kong filled with treats or peanut butter helps her settle. She is also learning commands like “down”, “stay”, and “back up”, and already knows “sit.”
Bula’s ideal home would give her a quiet space of her own when she needs it, along with patient people who will give her time to settle into a routine. She would likely enjoy a dog friend once properly introduced, but she likely wouldn't enjoy a home with cats or small animals. Most of all, Bula is looking for someone who will appreciate her happy, eager, and cuddly nature and help her continue to build confidence!
