Hi, my name is Chocolat!
Originally rescued by our rescue partners in Mexico, Chocolat has settled nicely into his foster home. His foster says he is very smart, energetic and food motivated - making training very easy. He is potty trained and currently undergoing crate & leash training. As crate training is still so new, he is showing some signs of separation anxiety and is sometimes tense in the crate but is improving. Chocolat has shown good manners when meeting other dogs and loves to play. He is high energy and loves to play with both human and dog friends. He has not been socialized with any kids or cats in his foster home at this time. He does try to jump up often, which his foster is working on, so caution with smaller kids would be advised until fully trained. Chocolat is a bigger fan of dog friends than human friends and can be cautious when meeting new people but warms up quickly. He loves affection at all times from his trusted human friends and is a great cuddler. Look at that sweet face! Everyone loves Chocolat!
His ideal home would be someone who would have the time and energetic lifestyle to keep up with adventures and playtime. He can be nervous in crowds, parking lots, and city sounds but is improving every day - so a quiet neighbourhood would be preferred but he could be a great city dog if adopted by a patient adopter who will focus on training. With consistent socialization training, we are sure he could settle into city life if adopted to a city household.
