I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Cora

We're happy to tell you that Cora has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

For those who regularly follow Full Circle Rescue and our available dogs up for adoption, you will recognize Cora and we are thrilled to announce that she is officially ready for her final transition in life - ADOPTION!

Cora has settled in beautifully in a home environment where she has been able to decompress outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto. Cora is a cautious girl when meeting new people, but once you earn her trust she will happily accept all the pets and belly rubs that you offer. Cora is fully house-trained, and will currently only go to the washroom on her leisurely walks as she was used to being fostered in an apartment. Cora is happy to match your energy and go with the flow! While her foster is at work she has proven to be non-destructive and will spend the day happily enjoying her peace and quiet. Cora loves to use her crate as her safe place and will retreat there on her own accord when she is feeling tired. She spends the whole night sleeping in her crate snuggled up on her bed with the crate door open.

This girl LOVES to toss her stuffed toys around dramatically. Cora is a very low-key German Shepherd, taking almost 25 minutes to complete a 1km walk. Cora loves to sniff and has excellent leash manners. She, however, does not like having other dogs in her space and gets fearful when strangers get close to beloved humans. This reaction is a part of her feeling as though she needs to protect her pack. During these moments, she is visible with her cues that she is getting uncomfortable (a small audible exhale of a breath, raised fur on her neck), and when her foster sees these cues she re-directs beautifully. Cora is extremely responsive to her foster's directions during these times and loves getting her treat at the end for being a great listener. Cora requires an adopter who is mindful of her cues and their environment when on walks, and will commit to following the training that Cora has received to date by her fosters to continue with her success.

Cora is sweet, loveable, and stoic, and is excited to be someone’s one and only in a home to call her own.

Ideal Home for Cora:

- A detached home in a quiet neighbourhood (can be residential)

- A quiet home (although Cora is currently fostered with very dog savvy kids without issue, she feels as though a quieter home would be Cora’s best fit)

- Someone that will observe her cues and is willing to support her on her continued growth
