I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Cora

I'm Available

If you’re looking for a sweet and gentle girl who is happy to snuggle up and watch some movies with you, look no further! Cora is your girl!

Cora can take a while to warm up to new situations, but once she does her lovely personality comes out in full force! This goofy girl loves to toss her stuffed toys around dramatically, a good game of tug, and the occasional playful wrest!

Cora is currently working on her overprotective guard dog tendencies and stranger danger reactivity in the home and on walks. She is training every day with her foster mom. Cora does not pull or lag on walks but is working through reactivity issues so a strong handler who has experience with reactive dogs would be best for this lady! Especially while she works through her fears.

Cora is disinterested in other dogs and would like to just be with her people. Previously, Cora was being fostered with a FCR alumni dog and tension was high between the two of them. When her foster intervened she unintentionally got a small puncture wound from Cora. Minor medical care was received and because of this Cora now has a bite history. Full disclosure is very important to us at FCR, but we want to reassure future adopters that Cora has never shown any aggression towards her human friends!

At her core (pun intended), Cora is the sweetest loveliest, loyal and gentlest giant who thinks her humans are her world! She loves leisurely walks around a quiet neighborhood, curling up on the couch, giving nose kisses, and just in general being with her people. If you think Cora is your gal she's looking forward to meeting you!

Foster update!:

Cora got to experience her first snowfall this Winter and is a certified Winter frolicker who experiences the snow zoomies! She gets more trusting and goofy everyday and we've been working diligently on getting her used to strangers and passing other dogs in the neighbourhood on walks every single day. As she had a recent vet visit - the vet technicians had nothing but great things to say about her, she also got to wear the cone of shame for 10 days and took it like a champ. Cora would thrive in a home as an only dog, she loves her humans, is cat friendly and will happily entertain herself with her toys. Cora has been in foster care for over 200 days with no interest, she is ready for a second chance!
