Hello everyone - my name is Dakota and I'm a good boy that's full of love to give.
Dakota was rescued from one of our partner shelters in Texas, USA. 3 years ago Dakota was adopted through Full Circle Rescue and then re-surrendered back us recently due to changes in the home that were no longer an ideal fit for him. Do NOT let this deter you from adopting this well mannered, house AND crate trained boy. Dakota is currently fostered with other dogs and a cat. Dakota is a well socialized, playful and happy boy, who loves to play with his foster siblings. He respects the space of the older dog in his foster home when he's not in the mood to play, and has adjusted to life with a cat as well. Dakota does well with dog savvy children of all ages.
His foster notes that he loves going for walks, and will also happily cuddle up and snooze on his bed. Dakota would thrive in an environment where he gets to spend as much time with his people as possible. Although he loves his human friends, he does very well when left alone and spends his time content in his crate while his foster is at work for the whole day. Dakota would do well in a home with another dog, however could easily adjust to being the only love of someone's life. A backyard for Dakota would be ideal.
*Medical: Dakota was tested positive for Lyme (Borrelia burgdorferi) on May 14th, 2024. He has completed the recommended treatment by a registered vet and Dakota's demeanour has returned to normal. Also, when he first came into Full Circle Rescue's care he had an old, healed fracture, which has resulted in one leg being a little bit shorter than the other.
