Hi my name is Doochi!
Doochi is such a special dog! He is loving, cuddly, smart and fun! He's a goofy guy when he starts to get comfortable so his foster is very excited for him to get into his forever family and start to flourish! Doochi is a great companion and would love to go on trips with his new family! He attaches himself to his humans and his ideal adopter's would involve him in all their activities! He is house trained and will patiently wait by the door. He does fabulous with cats around! He is currently working on being left alone, his new adopters need to be willing to continue working on this with him.
Doochi aka Dutch would do great in a household with a solid routine. A routine for Dutch would be essential in order to help him build confidence and work on his separation anxiety. He does great in the city and in an apartment setting and is not bothered by its noise, but he does love running so having somewhere fenced in where he can run would be great! His foster would love to see him in a family that will take good care of his little feet and toes. Doochi has Angular Limb Deformity (ALD), this is in no way slowing him down. He is not showing any signs of pain, he maintains his day-to-day activities with ease, and is experiencing a great Quality Of Life (QOL). It is important that Doochi's future family understands ALD, and that they are aware that surgery in the future may be recommended. Currently Doochi is loving his walks, so a person or family that can continue to give Dutch everything he wants and needs is a must! The foster believes he is a one-person dog, so a busy family isn't a priority for him.
His ideal home would be one with a patient and understanding adopter in terms of his medical condition. Doochi would do best in a home with another calm dog who might help him build his confidence. Doochi is a playful boy and deserves an amazing home!
