At 2 years old and 40 lbs, Bo is a handsome beagle mix with a big heart, an even bigger personality, and plenty of love to give. This friendly boy is always excited to meet new people and never turns down the opportunity for cuddles. Bo gets along well with dogs and children of all ages. He enjoys playing with his canine friends, though his play style can be a little rough and rowdy at times, so he'll benefit from continued guidance and structure when interacting with other dogs. He's also known to help himself to toys and snacks that belong to his furry companions, but he's never shown aggression - he just doesn't always understand the concept of personal property!
Like many young dogs, Bo is still working on some important life skills. He is not yet crate trained and is currently learning house manners, including toilet training. He can have accidents when left alone and experiences separation anxiety, so he'll do best with a family that can continue helping him build confidence and independence. Bo is also learning proper leash manners and would benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement training to curb his enthusiasm, especially when greeting people, as he can be a bit jumpy when excited.
An ideal home for Bo would be with someone who has experience with hounds or similar breeds, is home frequently, and can provide both mental and physical enrichment. He would love a yard or opportunities to explore and follow his nose, but what's most important is a family committed to helping him continue his training while giving him the love and patience he deserves.
