Meet Grandmama (aka Gigi)!
Grandmama is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves people and enjoys being part of a pack. She’s fully crate-trained (responds to the “crate” command) and potty-trained, with a solid routine that includes three potty breaks a day and overnight bladder control.
Grandmama came to us from a municipal shelter. Upon intake, she underwent bilateral entropion (cherry eye) surgery, she had a mass (benign) removed from her side and a much-needed spay!!
Personality & Temperament:
-Loves attention and belly rubs
-Calm and snuggly indoors, but has a playful side
-Great with most dogs-she thrives in a multi-dog household (she loves to play!!)
-Sometimes leash reactive due to excitement, but responds well to training
-Not food or toy possessive
Training & Commands:
Grandmama is an intelligent girl, she already knows sit, paw, down, sit pretty, crate, and is working on wait and heel. She’s smart and eager to learn. She would thrive with an experienced handler willing to continue her leash training especially with her excitement when seeing other dogs on walks.
Ideal Home:
This sweet girl would thrive in a fun and active home. A loving home with another dog would be perfect, and a backyard is a bonus. (She loves to get her energy out with zoomies!!) However, daily walks would keep her just as happy. She’s good with kids and her foster believes she would do well with all the love and attention, but adults should handle walks since she is a big girl and can pull when excited.
Why You’ll Love Her:
Grandmama is a gentle soul who just wants to make friends-both human and canine. She’s affectionate, playful, and has a heart as big as her name. Her shaved spots from surgery are growing back, and soon she’ll be as gorgeous as her personality!
