Meet Gru!
Gru is a 3-year-old, 11 lb Shih Tzu mix with a sweet, gentle personality. She may be a little shy at first, but with a bit of patience, she warms up and becomes curious, exploring her surroundings and coming up for pets from both adults and children. Once she feels comfortable, Gru enjoys affection and loves to be near her humans.
Gru is flexible when it comes to living arrangements—she can thrive as the only dog in the home or enjoy the company of other dogs. While she’s a little reserved at first when meeting new dogs, with time and space to adjust, she has shown she enjoys their company. She has bonded with her foster brother, Mayo, and her fur friend, Lola, and loves to wrestle and play chase with them.
This little girl is highly food-motivated, which makes her a great candidate for continued training! She walks well on a leash but may get distracted by a squirrel or a particularly interesting smell. She already sits nicely for treats and would benefit from further obedience and recall training as she continues to learn her name and builds trust with her new family.
Gru is both crate and house-trained after a period of decompression. She’s a laid-back pup who spends most of her day lounging and sleeping but looks forward to playtime with her foster brother.
