Meet Keylow, our senior husky with a big heart and bigger hopes!
Let's take you on Keylow's journey from who he is today, to who he was BEFORE Full Circle Rescue stood up to rescue this magnificent boy.
The Keylow of TODAY!
Dreaming of a husky without the chaos? This gentle, goofy, food-motivated sweetheart still loves his walks and outdoor play time, but prefers snuggles and stuffed animals over howling at the moon. Keylow is a 12 year old, 65lb "sucky bear" that is obsessed with people, and his stuffed toys. Keylow even carries his plush toys to bed, and is on a mission to find a home where he can soak up love and snacks in peace. This guy is fostered with other dogs and does well with everyone he meets! He is fostered with cats too, but he has shown to enjoy chasing them, so although he is friendly, if he is welcomed into a home with a cat this would need to be a consideration for his future adopters. He is house-trained and has earned the privilege of free roaming when his foster is out of the home. Keylow is a sweet, well-mannered, snuggly, cuddly, furry buddy who deserves a furever home that will give him as much love as he gives to others.
The Keylow who ORIGINALLY arrived in Full Circle Rescue's Care!
After neglect and abandonment, and what Full Circle Rescue could only imagine was years of unhealthy eating, and lack of proper vet care meant that we were in charge of getting to the bottom of some things. During a lot of trials (vet visits, medication, changes to food etc.) to help Keylow's skin heal, we were also met with a medical diagnosis we were not expecting. Keylow had a very large splenic mass. Our friends at PetNation made a spot for Keylow right away, where they performed all sorts of diagnostics including bloodwork, an ultrasound, and a CT scan. With the excellent guidance and knowledge of PetNation's care team, we signed the forms and Keylow underwent surgery the very next day. A WHOPPING 3+ KG, or approx. 7lb, mass was removed from our guy! The surgery was a great success and sections of the mass were sent off to determine if it was cancer. Keylow rested and recovered in foster while everyone at the rescue was holding their breath waiting for the results from the University of Guelph. Then, we got the news everyone wanted to hear....the mass was BENIGN! Keylow continued his recovery in foster and since surgery, Keylow has been thriving and is showing off his best self! Once Keylow was finished with his recovery, he was ready to be presented to the world that he was officially available for adoption!
