Meet Lucas !
Lucas is a gentle, sensitive soul with the sweetest heart. Rescued from a high-risk shelter in South Korea alongside his mother and seven siblings, he’s now safely settling into foster care in Canada, where he’s been showing everyone just how much he has to offer.
When Lucas first arrived, the world felt like a big, scary place. New sounds, unfamiliar surroundings, and everyday life could be overwhelming for him. But with patience, consistency, and love from his foster family, Lucas has made incredible progress. Every day his confidence grows, and it’s been a joy to watch him become more comfortable exploring the world around him.
While Lucas is still a naturally timid boy, once he feels safe his playful personality begins to shine. He absolutely loves playing fetch, racing around the yard with joyful zoomies, and quietly spending time with the people he trusts.
Lucas is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and does well when left alone, whether crated or with free roam. He has wonderful house manners and settles in nicely to a calm routine. He’s also cat-friendly and gets along well with other dogs.
Lucas would thrive in a patient, understanding home that will continue building his confidence at his own pace. His ideal family will recognize that trust can’t be rushed and will allow him to come out of his shell on his own terms while gently encouraging him to keep growing.
A securely fenced yard would be a wonderful fit for Lucas, giving him a safe place to run, play, and enjoy his favourite zoomies. While he could do well as an only dog, we think he’d especially benefit from a calm, confident canine companion who can help show him that the world isn’t so scary. A dog who matches his gentle energy not one that’s overly boisterous would make an excellent role model.
Lucas may not be the dog who runs up to greet you on day one, but for someone willing to invest a little patience, the reward is immeasurable. Watching him blossom is incredibly special, and earning the trust of this sweet boy is something you’ll cherish forever.
