Meet Luna!
Luna has grown so much over the píast couple of weeks in foster care, and it has been wonderful to watch her confidence blossom!
When Luna first arrived, she was terrified and very skittish, and she needed extra time and patience to feel safe and comfortable. But as she has learned that she is safe, we’ve seen more and more of her sweet personality shine through. She is becoming a happy, affectionate and curious girl who loves being around her people, going for nature walks, and soaking up all the love and attention she can get.
Luna is also making some amazing strides with her confidence. She is now completely comfortable going outside and going upstairs on her own - she no longer needs to be picked up, and stairs are no longer something that worries her. She has also become perfectly comfortable with car rides and is happy to hop along for an adventure!
Luna is dog-friendly and doesn’t mind being around other small dogs. She may take a little time before she feels ready to play, but she is curious, enjoys sniffing and is comfortable sharing her space with them. She is also still cat-friendly and currently lives happily with a cat.
Once Luna trusts you, she absolutely adores pets, belly rubs and head scratches. She loves to have fun, listens well, knows “sit,” and is currently learning “paw.”
Luna is house trained and crate trained. She does experience some separation anxiety and may howl when left alone. Her ideal adopter will either be home frequently or be willing to patiently continue helping her build confidence with being alone. At night, Luna is happiest sleeping in her own bed in the same room as her humans.
Luna’s foster family feels she would thrive in a home with a secure backyard, a cozy couch, and someone who enjoys getting outside for walks and adventures. More than anything, she needs someone who understands that trust takes time and will allow her to continue coming out of her shell at her own pace.
Luna has already come such a long way, and we know there is still so much more to come. Give her the time and patience to trust you, and she will give you so much in return. Once Luna knows she is safe and loved, she is a wonderful, affectionate and happy girl who simply wants to enjoy life alongside her people.
Luna is ready to find the family who will show her that she is finally home.
