Who is a match for Macha? Pretty much anyone would be lucky to welcome this pretty perfect little girl into their home!
Macha is a 3-year-old Shih Tzu mix and is non-shedding. She was an owner surrender but despite her change in circumstances, she is always happy and settled into her foster home immediately. Macha is peppy but not high energy – a 20 minute walk in the morning, a pee break midday and another 20 minute walk in the evening are all she needs. After her exercise, she is happy to nap. Macha is 95% housetrained and is working on her queues to signal she has to go out (it doesn’t help that her foster has lots of doors to the outside at their house which makes things confusing!). She is crate trained, sleeping in there at night or when her foster goes out, but there is no doubt she would be happy to chill on the couch with you or even share your bed if you're willing to have a bedtime snuggle buddy! She has good recall and is very food motivated. If she knows you have treats, no recall is required because she will be your shadow! She walks well on a leash, she enjoys sniffs and is easily corrected if those sniffs take her off course. She will bark when someone comes to the door but is otherwise a quiet girl.
Matcha is currently living with a fur sibling and she ignores him, so she would be fine with another dog or as an only child. She is polite when meeting new dogs on walks but doesn’t linger. She has not been around children but we don’t foresee any issues as she is very gentle. She is very curious with new people and while initially a little shy, the tail is wagging full time and she welcomes the attention.
