Meet Nala!
Nala is a loyal and beautiful Shepherd/Malinois mix with a big heart, a sharp mind, and energy to match! This affectionate girl is already potty trained, does well when left alone rides nicely in the car, and knows several basic commands including sit, stay, leave it, heel, and okay. She thrives on structure, consistency, and guidance, and absolutely loves spending time with her people. Once she trusts you, Nala becomes an incredibly loyal, loving, and protective companion who enjoys cuddles, affection, playing with her toys, and watching the world go by from the window.
Nala is currently working on her crate training and social skills. She can be a little nervous around new noises, unfamiliar people, and other dogs, and may react by jumping or becoming overstimulated until redirected. She has met both small and large dogs, but she still needs slow, proper introductions with an experienced handler who understands dog body language and positive socialization techniques. Because of this, Nala would do best as the only dog in the home while she continues building confidence and learning appropriate social skills. Nala has shown that she does not do well with cats, so a cat-free home is required. She has not been tested with young children, but older dog-savvy kids would likely be best due to her high energy level and initial nervousness around new people. Nala is an active, intelligent dog who requires both physical exercise and mental stimulation to truly thrive. She would love a home with a large yard where she can safely burn off energy, plus an owner committed to continuing her training and providing the structure, boundaries, and leadership she craves.
In return, Nala will reward her future family with endless loyalty, affection, and companionship. Her foster describes her as “the most loving, loyal, and protective best friend you could ever ask for.”
