Meet Parang!
Parang has come a long way since her arrival in her Canadian foster home. She arrived sweet, timid and afraid of the world. Over the past couple of weeks, her foster has given her the proper time to settle and decompress in a quiet, non-pressured environment on her own terms - this has seemed to work best for her. It is important to note that Parang can be a nervous but curious girl. Her new journey of discovering what the world has to offer has just begun and new adopters must understand her slow approach in life.
She is a gentle, observant young dog who has blossomed beautifully in foster care - hoping to soon be able to settle down in a proper permanent adoptive and loving home. She’s medium-to-low energy, adores her walks (mainly to get her sniffers on), as she is the happiest when able to follow her nose. Inside the home, she settles easily on her bed and enjoys simply being near her people. She is polite and curious with dogs on leash, will approach slowly with caution but also has a playful side to her if given proper introduction. She currently is fostered with younger kids and is respectful, however will be cautious at first and generally enjoys her own space until comfortable to come to you! dog savvy kids - would be essential.
As for cats, she currently co-exists with one in her foster home - though her foster and prey drive outdoors suggests a cat-free home would be the easiest fit. She tends to chase at times and has been only around cats while supervised. She’s potty trained, learning basic cues, and making steady progress with crate training and separation confidence. She would thrive with adoptees willing to continue basic training, confidence building, structured boundaries as well as crate training. Parang can be nervous with new people and sudden movements but warms up gently and seeks affection once she feels safe. It is important for her new humans to all be equally involved in bonding so she can quickly adjust to everyone. She is eager to please, wiggles for training, and has shown remarkable progress in just two weeks. Her ideal home is patient, consistent, and ready to continue her confidence-building. She can thrive as an only dog or with a friendly, well-adjusted companion, and she does well without a yard as long as she gets daily walks.
Parang is a sweet, resilient girl with so much potential - and she’s ready to continue her journey with her forever family.
