Meet Rita
Rita is a precious 9-year-old senior girl with a heart full of love and a true talent for snuggling. She is crate-trained but isn’t a big fan, she much prefers curling up in her human’s bed where it’s warm and cozy which quickly becomes her favorite place to be.
Rita is a low-energy sweetheart who’s happiest relaxing, cuddling, and keeping you company. She doesn’t have much interest in toys, but she more than makes up for it with endless affection and the cutest snorty sounds while she sleeps which are guaranteed to make you smile.
She is great with kids of all ages but would recommend a family with older kids due to her size. Rita does well with other small dogs, but she isn’t to comfortable around larger dogs. Because of her size and specific needs Rita would do best with an adopter who has small dog experience and understands how to help her feel safe and supported.
Rita will need a loving home committed to helping her on her weight loss journey and her adopter should be prepared to carry her up and down stairs as they can be difficult for her. She is also still working on potty training especially during colder weather since she does not enjoy walking in the cold but she is perfectly happy going for walks when the weather is warmer. With patience, consistency, and understanding, she will continue to make progress.
Rita can sometimes bark when she is excited or feeling extra sassy, which just adds to her charming personality. Above all else, she is incredibly snuggly, deeply affectionate, and ready to give all her love to someone willing to give her the gentle care she deserves.
