Meet Tan!
Tan is on the shy side and is searching for a quiet and calm forever home. Tan is looking for patient adopters that will allow him to come around on his own terms. A quiet environment is necessary for Tan and would be most beneficial as he is a little frightened by new humans (mostly males) at first. When afraid, Tan will choose to retreat and shut down, rather than react. Tan refers to his crate as his safe space and will generally retreat to his crate in times of need.
After a month of decompression and patience from his current foster, Tan is ready for a new beginning with adopters willing to show him how to trust again. Tan is house trained & crate trained, but is also ready to learn new basic commands. He deserves a safe space and would thrive with another confident & playful dog. Another dog would help Tan build the necessary confidence and show the ropes on how to be a dog. It has been noted that Tan loves the presence of other dogs and does not shy-out when it comes to meeting new fur friends.
Tan had arrived from Korea over a month ago, this journey seemed to be tough on him. With patience and time to learn to trust, he will adapt and become a loving companion. Although Tan hasn't shown to be overly affectionate, he loves to play with other dogs and has a cute habit of walking on the left side of his foster mom during walks. This sweet boy adores the outdoors!
Although he does just fine around children, Tan would do best around older dog savvy children as he can be nervous when being pet at first or startled easily by loud sounds. Tans favourite place to be is outside. He loves to play and lay outside. He would do best in a home that has a yard. He enjoys his walks and would love an active owner who will enjoy the outdoors with him. Tan enjoys his stuffed toys and bones. He will attach himself to his humans after some trust building. If you're looking for a gentle and sweet pup who enjoys the company of other dogs and will eventually warm up to his new family, Tan is the perfect match for you.
